Whitney Mwangi graduated with honors from the University of Nairobi (Kenya) with a B.A in Journalism and Media Studies. After graduation, Whitney obtained a post-graduate diploma in Public Relations Management from the Kenya Institute of Management in Nairobi.
Prior to joining GHS, Whitney was the program communications focal point for the Artists for Refugees (AFR) project developed and funded by UNHCR Kenya and implemented by the Danish Refugee Council. In her role, she oversaw talent development activities and managed livelihood resources for refugees in Nairobi, Dadaab and Kakuma project sites. She has also served as the brand manager for Williette Safehouse, an NGO focusing on uplifting the lives of people living with disability in Liberia. Before AFR and Williette Safehouse, Whitney was the lead communications consultant for the 4th Annual International Humanitarian Partnership Conference 2016. She organized and managed a two-day conference, which attracted over 2000 delegates from across the globe to discuss humanitarian assistance in Africa.
Whitney is passionate about providing practical solutions to PR & Communications needs. She has spent the past 7 years mastering the art of creativity, strategic communication, brand management, public relations and content creation. Currently, she is also a guest writer for the United Nations Play for Peace Initiative.
