Wanjiru is a communications professional with over 12 years of experience in media (journalism), corporate communications and public relations. A passionate storyteller dedicated to making communication simple, impactful and engaging, she believes in the power of stories to create meaningful connections and drive positive change.
Prior to joining GHS in 2019, Wanjiru had worked as a communications business partner at Safaricom Plc (East and Central Africa’s most profitable company), a public relations specialist handling brands such as Coca-Cola, MasterCard, Diageo, Heineken and Samsung, and a business journalist at Citizen TV – Kenya’s leading TV station.
At GHS, Wanjiru is responsible for regional media strategy, developing communications strategies, account management and content development spanning traditional and new media. She also works closely with the event planning team and has supported projects in universal health coverage (UHC), immunization, health leadership and behaviour change communications.
Wanjiru holds a B.A. in Communication from Daystar University and brings to the team a wealth of knowledge in communications strategy, stakeholder relations, issues and crisis management, among others.
