Sinenhlanhla (Sine) is an accomplished communications expert from South Africa with over 15 years of industry experience. She serves as a Chartered Public Relations Practitioner (CPRP), a WHO-approved Infodemic Manager, and is the Deputy Chairperson for the African Union’s Public Health Risk Communication and Community Engagement Community of Practice for Africa (PH-RCCE-CoPA). She holds an educational background in Media and Cultural Studies, Integrated Marketing Communication, and a master’s degree in communication sciences. She has a proven track record in crafting effective communication strategies for diverse audiences.
Prior to GHS, Sine was the Senior Communications Manager at the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) and Head of Communications at the Centre for the AIDS Programme of Research in South Africa (CAPRISA). She has led crisis communication strategies, enhancing response times during public health emergencies, and spearheaded digital initiatives during COVID-19. Additionally, Sine has experience in leading projects linked to community engagement, and driving behaviour-change communication. Her work has strengthened partnerships, supported training programmes, and influenced policy related to Africa’s public health response.
