Siki is Director of Communications for Southern Africa, based out of our Johannesburg, South Africa office. Siki is a media professional with over 15 years of experience in television and content production, lecturing, and development communications. She joined GHS in February 2018 as Communication Manager, leading the work on the SAFE South Africa project and the communications and media relations support for various clients. As one of the first team members in the SA office, she was instrumental in growing our work and reputation in SRHR in the country including building our media and stakeholder network. Expertise includes implementation of partner-led communications campaigns, providing ongoing strategic communications support and technical assistance, facilitating media training workshops, and project management.
A former journalist, she has worked in some of South Africa’s top newsrooms like the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) and eNews Channel Africa (eNCA). Her specialisation is in broadcast journalism with emphasis on human interest stories and South African politics. She has also been published as a freelance writer in a number of in-country publications.
Siki was named as one of the 2019 Mail&Guardian Top 200 Young South Africans in the film & media category.
Previously she also spent two years with World Vision South Africa as an Advocacy Communications Specialist. Her work included communications for various advocacy projects, with a special focus on the Child Health Now Campaign, advocating for child and maternal health. Her communications expertise includes internal and external communications, managing campaign communications, and stakeholder engagement.
