Based in Islamabad, Pakistan, Sarah Shaikh has led communications and project management in the development sector for over a decade. She has provided strategic oversight to organizations focused on health, education and disability.
Her areas of focus have been: country mapping, community engagement, on-the-ground impact analysis for programmes, donor engagement, developing crisis comms and relief programmes during earthquakes, the COVID-19 pandemic and documentation of the state of the health services network following the devastating floods in Pakistan in 2022.
As GHS’s Pakistan advisor, Sarah worked extensively in the field to document the impact and structure of the government-led Ehsaas programme, Pakistan’s largest, award-winning welfare programme. Sarah also works on polio and climate and led on guest experience for the Reaching the Last Mile Forum at the COP28 Health Day.
Sarah has facilitated GHS’s engagement with communities and programme partners across Pakistan and secured access to both restricted territories and populous communities. Sarah has built relationships with the Federal and Provincial governments, a network of press and media broadcast professionals, documentary and production teams, field workers and photojournalists with experience in climate and health.
