Nivedha Meyyappan joins Global Health Strategies as a Communications and Advocacy Associate with a passion for human rights. Prior to joining GHS, she has worked for organizations such as the United Nations Office of Sexual Violence in Conflict, The Center for Reproductive Rights, and the U.S. Department of State on research and communications related to global health and human rights. She is especially passionate about improving access to health and justice for those in conflict and refugee settings.
Nivedha holds an MPH from Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health and a BA/BS in International Studies and Human Biology from Indiana University. Her graduate thesis focused on gender-based violence faced by women and girls in the Cox’s Bazar refugee camp in Bangladesh. In her free time, Nivedha loves to read and is also a photographer in New York City. She hopes to use photography to promote ethical storytelling and amplify the voices of vulnerable populations.
