Kavya always dreamed of working for the community- as what and how kept evolving as she did, and it reflects in her only begun career already. She holds a specialization in Environmental Economics and Political Science and stands aspirational about incorporating the urgent narratives of climate and health. Through the platform given to her by Global Health Strategies, she hopes to devise policies that cater to the intersection of the two.
She is extremely passionate about women’s health, intersectional feminism, and sustainability. She has worked on challenging projects that revolved around developing post-abortion healthcare policies in rural states of UP, India, and on other projects that enabled generating awareness around menstrual hygiene and towards a larger cause of destigmatizing the issue as a whole. She also holds the experience of curating a gender-sensitization training for the UP Police personnel where she handled the department’s gender auditing. Her latest work included handling sustainability communications for various green firms and working as an ESG (Environment, Social, and Governance) advocate. She is happy to make a switch back to health advocacy.
