Elle Ruggiero joins Global Health Strategies as a Communications and Advocacy Associate. She graduated from Princeton University with a bachelor’s degree in the School of Public and International Affairs and minors in Global Health Policy and Spanish. At Princeton, Elle’s interest in health equity culminated in her senior thesis, which investigated how the gradual erosion of maternity care services in Trenton, New Jersey has affected maternal health care access and outcomes over time.
Prior to joining GHS, Elle was a Henry Richardson Labouisse Fellow and spent a year working as a legal analyst for a human rights legal clinic in Brasília, Brazil. During her fellowship, her work defending reproductive freedom reached the Brazilian Supreme Court. She has also held research positions at International Planned Parenthood Federation, the US Agency for International Development, the Council on Foreign Relations, and most recently at Fòs Feminista.
