Chakera is a communications expert based in Dakar, Senegal with a passion for social justice and storytelling. Chakera has worked on large-scale communication campaigns and media events across several African countries in partnership with regional and international organizations. She brings expertise in media engagement and communications project management to the team.

Prior to GHS, Chakera worked for the African Press Organization overseeing the implementation of media strategies for major companies and organizations in Africa. She also developed and implemented communications strategies for several NGOs in Senegal. Chakera studied International Communications at the American University of Paris and holds a master’s degree in Migration and Diaspora Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies in London.
