Akshay is a Director at GHS and has worked with various issues including nutrition, TB, and women’s sexual and reproductive health. He specializes in leveraging media and communication strategies to elevate discourse of key health issues. At GHS, Akshay has formulated and helped implement several communications campaigns on nutrition and blood donations for clients like Tata Trusts and Facebook and on topics often considered stigmatized including TB and access to abortions. Both campaigns played a notable role in enhancing access to critical health and nutrition services. His focus is to leverage traditional media and digital media tools for public health communications. Prior to joining GHS, he was working as a Coordinator with The Rotary Foundation, which is the project implementing arm of Rotary International. He has also worked with the Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) in the Affordable Health Technologies division and the Research Communications department. Before moving to public health communications, he had a brief stint at Hindustan Times. Akshay holds a Master’s in Journalism and Mass Communication.
