Akanksha is a Manager at Global Health Strategies, where she currently works on a project focused on creating an enabling environment to accelerate the elimination of Neglected Tropical Diseases such as lymphatic filariasis and visceral leishmaniasis in India.
With over three years of experience in strategic public health, she brings a pragmatic and operational approach to driving change for people who need it the most. Previously, she contributed to the Tuberculosis program at the William J. Clinton Foundation, collaborating closely with the Rajasthan State Tuberculosis Cell in areas of Direct Benefit Transfers, private sector engagement, capacity building, and monitoring and evaluation.
Akanksha holds a bachelor’s degree in dental surgery from Rajasthan University of Health Sciences. During graduation, she developed a keen interest in Community medicine as she organized and led numerous health camps across Rajasthan – leveraging comprehensive knowledge of emergency medicine to assess, treat and stabilize patients, while also coordinating with local authorities to ensure timely access to healthcare services.
When not engaged in activities around work, she enjoys travelling and immersing herself in the local culture of a place. She is also an avid cinephile, a misfit musician, and a rookie chef- experimenting with different cuisines, very often with disastrous results but at other times bordering on gourmet.
