Susana joins GHS as an Associate and brings a strong background in advocacy and research acquired during her time as a Policy and Advocacy Intern at the Massachusetts Public Health Association (MPHA). Susana did outreach to state politicians and their staffers with the goal of acquiring support for several bills and amendments related to Massachusetts public health. She also worked with community organizing with coalition partners to increase participation in an advocacy campaign to acquire funding for the Massachusetts Food Trust program. Also at MPHA, Susana conducted research on Accountable Communities for Health models across the United States to inform members of the Prevention and Wellness Trust Fund working group and help guide their decision making process. Susana holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from Sao Paulo State University and a Master in Public Health from Boston University.
