Rasik is a Program Associate working on the Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCH+A) and nutrition project in Uttar Pradesh. He graduated summa cum laude from the College of William and Mary with a B.A. in Philosophy in 2015. Rasik, born and raised in Athens, Georgia, and brought up in a multi-cultural family of social activists and progressive thinkers, developed an interest in social justice issues early on. He grew up spending summers in Kolkata, and in high school, he began volunteering with Jabala, an NGO working in Kolkata’s red light areas, in an after school program for the children of sex workers. While in college he interned with Apne Aap Women Worldwide while conducting a research project on the educational opportunities of sex workers’ children. After graduating, he moved to Lucknow to volunteer full time as a research intern with Sanatkada Samajik Pehel, a women’s rights organization working with marginalized communities in the city. Since joining GHS in 2016, Rasik’s unique perspective has helped him navigate Uttar Pradesh’s complex landscape.
