Niamh Fitzgerald is a consultant supporting GHS and GFS. She has worked in New York and New Delhi on a range of issues, including family planning, cervical cancer, adolescent health, communicable diseases, advancing primary health care, and capacity-building for local organizations in emerging economies. Previously, Niamh worked with Africa Impact Group, conducting research on social impact investing for health in sub-Saharan Africa, and as a research assistant at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health, University of Toronto. She also worked for the Clinton Global Initiative, where she helped to develop and monitor members’ commitments and partnerships to address pressing global health issues, and for several international NGOs including Pencils of Promise, the Stephen Lewis Foundation and Dignitas International. In addition, she has worked internationally for organizations in Namibia, Uganda, Kenya and Peru, focusing primarily on women’s sexual and reproductive health and rights, HIV/AIDS education and advocacy, and youth development and empowerment. Niamh graduated magna cum laude from the University of Toronto with a B.A. in Political Science, with a focus on international development and health policy.
