Tayyab Rashid is a public health advocate and professional with a background in health policy and management. Before GHS, Tayyab was the Presidential Fellow at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University. There he worked on public health and communications projects at the Office of the President. Tayyab led a communications team on the president’s weekly newsletter and wrote and edited different communications for Downstate’sexecutive office. Additionally, he took on a community engagement role with various stakeholders such as Plant-based Nutrition Awareness with the Office of the Brooklyn Borough President and addressing maternal mortality rates in Central Brooklyn with the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Concurrently, Tayyab served as the Financial Administrator for Society of Medical Administrators, a non-profit professional organization bringing top healthcare leaders together for an annual meeting to improve health and hospital management.
Tayyab holds an MPH from SUNY Downstate School of Public Health and a BS in Biology from Hobart and William Smith Colleges. Tayyab is a New Yorker born and raised with an affinity for public health and culture.
