Edward is a strategic communications professional specializing in human rights and public health with experience across philanthropy, journalism, civil society and government. Over the last decade he has led communications for two NGOs advocating drug policy reform, and consulted for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s polio team, Open Society Foundations’ Public Health Program and the UK Department of International Development around the UK-hosted Global Vaccine Summit. Edward formerly worked as a journalist in Colombia covering organized crime in the Americas and has served as a technical advisor to the Global Commission on Drug Policy, including co-authoring their reports on access to controlled medicines and drug decriminalization.
During his time at Global Health Strategies, which included a previous role in the New York office, Edward has worked across polio eradication, family planning, and child health.
Edward has a B.A. (First Class Hons) in International Relations and Politics from the University of Sussex.
