As a Communications Manager, Diêgo Lôbo uses his skills to leverage GHS’s projects around sexual and reproductive health and rights, climate and energy, among others, pitching stories in Latin America and Lusophone Africa. Before joining GHS, he worked as a Communications and Fundraising Officer for five years at CESE, a grant-making organization supporting grassroots initiatives and human rights defence in Brazil. He was one of the leads of the MDGs award-winner Action for Children Program, a cooperation between organizations from Brazil, South Africa, Kenya, India and the Netherlands.
Currently, Diêgo works as a volunteer at TODXS, a social startup working to empower LGBTQ+ people in Brazil. He conducted research on transnational activism at Global Justice Now, in London, and interned at the Soul City Institute for Health and Development Communication in Johannesburg, supporting its online communication strategy. Over the past few years, he has collaborated with organizations such as the European Journalism Centre (EJC), Clímax Brasil, 350.org and Global Call for Climate Action (GCCA). Diêgo holds a degree in Communications with a major in Public Relations from the Bahia State University (UNEB), an MA in Media Practice for Development and Social Change from the University of Sussex, in the UK, and is now taking a specialization degree in Media and Politics at the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO).
