Charise has a B.A. in Sociology, and her passions include finding ways to curate culturally sensitive public health education and policies targeted towards youth to achieve sustainable outcomes. Before joining GHS, she supported Convergence Center for Policy Resolution by convening persons of divergent views to identify solutions for critical issues such as the childcare sector fallout with the Covid-19 pandemic and firearm-related suicide among minorities and youth.
Within the realm of public health and education, Charise has had the opportunity to volunteer in five countries. Specifically, she volunteered with a program hosted by YourStory International in Leogane, Haiti. She served as a clinic worker and advocate on a range of topics, such as maternal\child health and access to education and employment. Additionally, after receiving sponsorship through the Jamaica Howard University Affinity Network, Charise also journeyed to Indonesia to participate in a health education teaching project for elementary and middle-aged school children. Charise also served as the Director of Campus Health (2020-2021) for the Howard University Student Association, Student Representative (2020-2021) on both the President’s Executive Budget Committee and Title IX Advisory Committee, and President (2020-2021) of Tropical Riddimz, a student-run Caribbean dance team. After her undergraduate studies, Charise aims to continue her education by pursuing a Master’s in Global Health Policy and Development.Connect on LinkedIn
