Caroline worked as an editor at Healthline and a health reporter for BuzzFeed News, where she covered breaking medical news and wrote features on health topics such as influenza, vaccines, e-cigarettes, and contraception. At BuzzFeed News, Caroline completed a residency on the video team where she wrote and produced original health videos for YouTube and Facebook.
In 2018, she was awarded two health journalism fellowships— one at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, Georgia and another with the Mayo Clinic and Walter Cronkite School of Journalism in Phoenix, Arizona. Caroline graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in health & societies with a focus on epidemiology and a minor in creative writing. At University of Pennsylvania, she was awarded a grant from the Center of Advanced Studies in India (CASI) to work at an NGO hospital in the Himalayan foothills of Uttarakhand, India. There, she also conducted her honor’s thesis research on the integration of Western and Ayurvedic medicine in the treatment of water-borne diseases.
