Smitashree is a Program Associate on the Family Planning Project and is based out of our office in Patna, Bihar.
Smitashree has completed her graduation in Economics and Masters in Development and Labour studies from Centre of Informal Sector and Labour Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University. Her seminar paper during her Masters was on the correlation between Education and Employment: trends and pattern in India. She has also written research papers on ‘missing female labour’, farmers suicide and interviewed Bihar migrants and informal sector workers. Having done field work on Beedi workers in Bhopal and on Menstrual Hygiene in a village in Odisha, she has always been interested in the public health sector. She has interned at National Skills Development Corporation under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana and Smart Gram Initiative of Rashtrapati Bhavan.
She has also served as an anchor for ETV Odia and as a voice artist for several advertisements and documentaries.
