Motshabi joins the SAFE South Africa team as a Manager in the Johannesburg office. As a triple major graduate at the University of the Witwatersrand, Motshabi’s career has spanned a total of 12 years to date. Whilst completing her Bachelor’s degree, Motshabi simultaneously volunteered at the South African Depression and Anxiety Group where she avidly harnessed her love and passion for people, mental health matters and advocacy work. It was during this time, when she later became a mental health Senior Counsellor, that she began focusing on counselling; training and conducting community outreach activities. She then moved into the human rights field where she further applied and diversified her advocacy and communications portfolio at the South African Human Rights Commission. She leveraged both these skills in order to raise awareness; promote and educate the broader public on human rights issues. Thus, her current role at GHS as an Advocacy Manager, will see her creatively weave together this cumulative experience; fervent passion and acquired skills set in enhancing the intersectional work on sexual and reproductive health and rights.
