Kate Schwartz graduated with honors from Washington University in St. Louis with a B.A. in International Relations. Complementing her courses at Washington University, Kate studied Political Science for seven months in Istanbul, Turkey, and participated in an intensive Arabic language program for three months in Amman, Jordan. Prior to joining GHS, Kate was a Naomi Chazan Fellow with the New Israel Fund where she advocated on behalf of the organization’s values of social justice and human rights within the State of Israel and the Occupied Territories. Kate also spent time working in Souda Refugee Camp on the island of Chios, Greece. She was a first responder to boat arrivals from Turkey, an English teacher, and an aid-worker providing care to vulnerable women and children on the island. After graduating from Washington University, Kate was an intern for the Global Energy Center at the Atlantic Council where she contributed to the growth and visibility of the Center’s work.
