Josy graduated from New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study with a concentration in Gender Politics, Advocacy, and Human Rights. A campus organizer and activist, Josy was the founder and president of Students for Sexual Respect, bringing hundreds of students together in pursuit of reproductive justice and sexual autonomy. Off campus, Josy interned with numerous advocacy groups, including the National Organization for Women, the Center for Reproductive Rights, and the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women). At the UN, she played a key role in the digital communications strategies of the 2016 International Day to End Violence Against Women and the 61st session of the Commission on the Status of Women. Josy also co-founded Better Sex Talk, a national photography campaign dedicated to improving K-12 sex education. Josy is interested in the power of storytelling for social change. She will return to NYU to complete her M.P.A. in Public and Nonprofit Management and Policy, specializing in Social Innovation.
