Dan Pawson stumbled into global health six years ago looking for a position that melded his passion for advocacy and an issue that mattered to billions. Since joining GHS in May 2011, Dan has led communications and advocacy campaigns on a range of infectious disease issues, including neglected tropical diseases, polio, tuberculosis and Ebola.
Prior to GHS, Dan spent four years as the legislative director for the Assistant Minority Leader in the Massachusetts State Senate, writing and shepherding legislation on issues as diverse as pediatric organ donation and municipal pension governance. He holds a J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School and is licensed to practice law in New York. Before law school, he earned a dual degree in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics (PPE) and Government from Claremont McKenna College.
