Akansha is a Senior Program Associate with LF project. She holds a Master’s degree in Social work as well as Diploma in Public Health. She has over 5 years of experience working with non-profit within the ambit of child protection and public health. Prior to GHS, she was associated with a non-profit called Evidence Action that is working in the field of Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTD) to overlook program of school and anganwadi based deworming in Bihar and Chhattisgarh. She was responsible for managing the campaign mode of National Deworming Day (NDD) in these two states in coordination with Department of Health and Family Welfare. Prior to this, she worked in the child protection sector with CHILDINE India Foundation, a national body executing 24/7 emergency helpline number (1098) responding to children in distress situations. Her efforts focused on strengthening response mechanisms for child in need of protection and to create child friendly support systems. She also worked briefly with a social enterprise called Earthygoods Foundation, to lead research on a project aimed at empowering traditional skill based artisans by directly connecting them to urban market through online-web platform.
Akanksha is a food and baking enthusiast and enjoys the company of her dog the most.
