Niamh Fitzgerald is a Consultant supporting Global Finance Strategies (GFS). Niamh graduated magna cum laude from the University of Toronto with a B.A. in Political Science and African Studies, with a focus on international development and health policy in developing countries. Her honors thesis focused on the variance of political responses to the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Southern Africa and the development of government policies to address the epidemic.
Prior to joining GFS, Niamh worked as a research associate for Africa Impact Group, conducting research on social impact investing and the health sector in central Africa. She also worked for the Clinton Global Initiative with the Global Health Commitments Team, where she helped to develop and monitor commitments and partnerships to address important global health issues. Niamh has worked for several non-profits including Pencils of Promise and the Stephen Lewis Foundation. In addition, she has worked internationally for organizations in Namibia, Uganda, Kenya and Peru, focusing primarily on women's sexual and reproductive health and rights, HIV/AIDS education and advocacy, and youth citizenship and empowerment.
