Prior to joining GHS, Kate developed and implemented communications strategies for public sector groups in Asia, South America, and Western Africa. In 2011, she co-founded Mission India, a volunteer group that partners with NGOs serving people living with HIV, TB, and leprosy in India; she has continued to work with Indian partners to advance community projects. Kate spent much of 2013 as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence for social enterprise NESsT in Santiago, Chile, where she produced a human-centered video campaign highlighting social entrepreneurs’ post-earthquake work. From 2014-2016, Kate founded the communications department and wrote the communications and development strategic plans for Asia Catalyst, a human rights organization focused on the right to health in Asia. An alumnus of the Watson Fellowship, Kate previously interned at Penguin Group USA, Fenton Communications, and The Wildlife Conservation Society.
Kate holds a B.F.A. in Creative Writing and a B.A. in Global Religious Studies from Macaulay Honors College at CUNY, and she studies Public Policy and Management at the Masters level via correspondence with the University of London School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS).
