Jessica Freifeld is a Director at Global Health Strategies.
Jessica moved to Nairobi in May 2015 to open GHS’s first office in Africa and support our broader work across the continent. Prior to this, Jessica worked in GHS’s New York office for six years, where she led a number of high-profile communications and advocacy projects, primarily related to women’s and children’s health, and built GHS’s African media network.
Before joining GHS, Jessica worked at Duke University’s Program on Global Health and Technology Access and on PATH’s Advocacy & Public Policy team. She decided to pursue a career in global health after volunteering at an orphanage for abandoned, abused and HIV-orphaned children in Cape Town, South Africa.
Jessica graduated Summa cum Laude from Duke University with a B.A. in Comparative Political Science, a minor in African and African-American Studies and a certificate in Global Health. Her studies focused primarily on international development, with a particular emphasis on health-related issues.
