Heather Anderson is a Director at Global Health Strategies, guiding advocacy and communication efforts in order to raise awareness and increase understanding about important global health technologies. She brings to GHS a background in both the private and public sectors.
Heather previously served as a Senior Program Officer at the International Division of Planned Parenthood Federation of America in Washington D.C. She led the organization's national grassroots advocacy strategy and was responsible for managing global partnerships between U.S. affiliates and international family planning associations. Additionally, Heather worked for EngenderHealth in Ethiopia where she spearheaded a needs assessment of youth sexual and reproductive health programs and policies.
Her field-based work also includes coordinating HIV/AIDS efforts under the leadership of Mechai Viravaidya at the Population and Community Development Association in Bangkok, Thailand. Previously, Heather spent six years at Accenture, a management consulting firm. She worked with a range of international clients on human performance solutions that included business process design, trainings, and software implementations. She holds a Master of Public Health from Columbia University and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Michigan.
